Sneak Peek! Hamalach HaGo’el by Coleen Dieker and Rabbi Josh Warshawsky from the upcoming album “Chaverai Nevarech Vol. IV”
Dear friends,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for coming on this Torah, prayer, and music journey with me over the last few years. Some of you have been with us since my first album (Mah Rabu) back in 2015 - almost ten years!! And others signed up just yesterday!
I truly believe that with our Chaverai Nevarech albums we have set a new standard for recording Jewish music in America and I am so proud of that. I have been honored to sing and pray this music with you in communities all over the country, from San Antonia, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska to Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Columbus, OH!
I’m writing to you an additional time this week (Just this week! Don’t unsubscribe 😁!) because I'm really excited to say that we are finally ready to record Chaverai Nevarech Volume IV! I really believe this could be our best collection of music yet. I’ve been sharing these pieces this year in my travels to communities around the country, and I can’t wait to really get it out into the world in earnest.
As you might have come to expect, there are melodies for Shabbat, holidays, weddings, and more, including melodies for texts that have rarely (or never) had new melodies before!
If you (or your synagogue/community) are interested in sponsoring a track or contributing or supporting us in any way, please reply to this email so we can talk!!
I have an amazing team in place to work on the music, arrangements, audio production and video production, and the musicians themselves are the best in the business and also very dear friends. Now we're just working on the funding to put it all together. If you (or your synagogue/community) are interested in sponsoring a track or contributing or supporting us in any way, please reply to this email so we can talk!! And if you’re in or near Los Angeles, I’d love for you to join us for the live album recordings on Tuesday June 4th at Temple Beth Am!
In gratitude for joining me on this journey, I wanted to share two sneak peeks from the album. The first (above) is a brand new melody for Hamalach HaGo’el written by Coleen Dieker and myself. This is the blessing that Jacob gives to Joseph’s sons before he dies. Our melody begins with the preceding verse in the Torah, calling out to God as the shepherd who watches over us. We will also finally be recording our new melody for Ahavah Rabbah!
Thank you again for being a part of this journey. I feel so blessed to be doing this work and so lucky to get to partner with dear friends and gather with dear friends to sing these blessings into the world - chaverai nevarech (Friends, Let Us Bless!)
Shabbat Shalom,
Josh Warshawsky
Amazing as always. Can't wait for the next album
Nice how you use that G major to minor transition.
